Description

MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISERS:

The division schedule is now available
Thank you for joining us at the 2023 Cheer All Star Canadian National Championships. Thank you for celebrating your season with us! The general schedule has now been updated and the division schedule has been posted on our website. Below is an overview of important details:

  • The U16 L2s compete on Friday/Saturday
  • Canadian Finals from 9:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday (tentative times)
  • Face Off from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (indicative times, maybe 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)

We expect the rewards schedule to be available next week (by March 17) with the first draft performance order released to coaches around March 22 (possibly sooner if we can facilitate).

DIVISIONS OF DIVISION

  • Breakdowns are based on ratios, specifically maximum stunt groups with the goal of grouping like teams with like teams
  • Based on registration data as of March 1.
  • We will not change subdivisions based on incorrect data, injury or illness. If you’re the right age and level, you’re in the right division.

GENERAL QUESTIONS:

  • What is the All-Star National Championships Competition?

The national championships are a big event organized by the private company specialized in organizing cheerleading events: Canadian Cheer. Every year, more than 300 Canadian teams meet in Niagara Falls for this major competition.

  • Do spectators have to buy tickets?

Yes. Advance tickets can be purchased by visiting the Event Connect website. Tickets will be available for purchase on site. There can be long lines, but they usually move quickly. Please plan your arrival time around having to wait in line. Face Off tickets have limited inventory and will be sold onsite if inventory permits.

  • How much will tickets cost for spectators?

Here is the list of prizes announced on the official website of the event:

  • ADULT 1 DAY: $23.90 + HST = $27.00
  • 2-DAY ADULT NATIONAL PASSES: $37.17 + HST = $42.00
  • 3-DAY ADULT NATIONAL PASSES: $50.45 + HST = $57.00
  • ADULT CANADIAN FINALS: $17.70 + HST = $20.00

  • 3-DAY CHILD/SENIOR NATIONAL PASSES: $46.02 + hst = $52.00
  • CANADIAN CHILD/SENIOR FINALS: $13.27 + HST = $15.00

  • CHILD/SENIOR VIP FACE OFF: $53.10 + hst = $60.00
  • CHILD/SENIOR: Age 6 – 12 years old or 65 years old +
  • Free for children 6 and under ! (5 years and under)

Athletes attending the event who wish to enter the venue prior to meeting their coach must ensure that their coach has checked in during registration and has given them their wristband. Otherwise, a ticket must be purchased.

Instead of paper tickets, all spectators will receive wristbands when purchasing access to the event. Wristbands must be worn throughout the weekend. Lost bracelets will not be replaced. All bracelets are waterproof.

Spectators will be able to access the lobby of the building without having to buy a ticket. All athletes must collect their bracelet from their coach before going beyond the hall. Individual athletes will not be permitted to pick up wristbands, with the exception of parent athletes.

Please note that telephoto lenses are not permitted.

  • Grandma can’t come. Will there be a live broadcast?

Yes, all sets and events will be streamed live. The cost will be the same as a spectator ticket and will allow 1 device to access the live stream. Digital tickets for the livestream will be available from the week of April 4, 2022.

Note: The National Awards Theater Live Stream is free. Live stream of awards: https://livemedia.biz/CDN_CHEER_AWARDS.html

  • What is Worlds Face Off?

Details of the event can be found on the website. This is a separate event, but taking place at the same location, on April 14. Top Canadian teams competing at Worlds are invited to Niagara to compete for over $20,000 in prize money and the chance to be crowned “Canada’s True North Strong”. Face Off tickets have limited inventory and will be sold onsite if inventory permits. All spectators require a ticket for Face Off. Athletes and coaches attending National Championships also require a separate Face Off ticket.

ACCOMMODATION QUESTIONS:

  • When do teams perform? What nights should I book?

It is impossible to answer this question now. Each team has two performances, last year Galaxy was early in the morning on Friday and Saturday, while the other G-Force teams were on Saturday and Sunday, that’s why Galaxy and the coaches had to arrive on Thursday evening. You must wait to receive the provisional competition schedule to know the competition days. This is why it is best to book for Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Check-in April 13 and check-out April 16) and modify your reservation before March 13 if necessary.

  • Is it mandatory to all stay in the same hotel? Which hotel should I book?

No. You have the choice to book in different hotels. The important thing is to book through Event Connect to adhere to the event’s “stay to play” policy. Here is the link to make your choice: https://app.eventconnect.io/hotels/search?association_id=501 . You will find a variety of hotels at different prices.

  • It is really very expensive as a hotel, why did you offer rooms at the Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Spa?

Our volunteers spent a lot of time trying to find a block of 90 rooms so that all of our athletes had the option of staying in the same hotel. It’s great to be together because the athletes can get together in the pool when they have free time (but it’s not mandatory to stay together). With over 300 teams competing, many hotels are already fully booked. It was the best that allowed us to book 90 rooms as a block.

Here is a reminder to gain access to our room blocks:

60 rooms available here 👉 https://app.eventconnect.io/s/9eC40xlX

Superior Room, 2 Queen Beds, View (Fallsview)

30 rooms available here 👉 https://app.eventconnect.io/s/GjwJIznY

Room, 2 Queen Beds, Fallsview

The hotel is within walking distance of the Scotia Bank Convention Center. (Importantly, last year it was a long windy walk and parking at the convention center is expensive and far).

  • What is the deadline for accessing the reserved room blocks?

The deadline to register is Tuesday, November 1. After this date the rooms will no longer be reserved for our group.

  • Where will the coaches stay?

Coaches will reside at the Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Spa.

  • What is “stay to play”?

This means that all registered athletes must stay in a hotel booked through the Event Connect site, otherwise the athlete cannot participate in the competition.

  • What is Event Connect?

It is a web platform for managing sports tournaments and booking hotels live. It is the organizer (Canadian Cheer Company) that requires us to use this platform.

[UPDATE 2023-03-24 ]How can I cancel or modify a reservation?

If you wish to cancel or modify a reservation, here is the procedure. Please note that this is a procedure that even Canadian Cheer (the organizers of the competition) seem to ignore!

  1. You will need your reservation number
    1. The problem is that by booking via Event Connect, you do not automatically obtain your reservation number!
    2. Vanessa managed to get everyone’s reservation numbers!
    3. The problem is that these are printscreens provided to us by Event Connect. You can  view them here and find your reservation number. They’re not listed by the last name…you’ll probably have to look at several before you find yours; Sorry!
  2. It seems that the procedure is to make your request via: Reserve@niagarafallshotels.com
    1. We invite you to write your request in English.
    2. You must mention your reservation number.
    3. You must mention what you want to change.
    4. It is important to note that in Ontario, the hotel has no obligation to make any changes as per our contract (details on the confirmations each person received upon booking). The deadline for making changes was the 13th.
    5. But it should be noted that Mrs. Gareau managed to change her reservation after the 13th … so it is doable.
  3. You can probably also communicate directly with the hotel, having your reservation number in hand.
