Private classes

Private classes to overcome physical inactivity and isolation, starting January 9th.

January 5, 2022, Vaudreuil-Dorion – As mentioned in our previous announcement, the latest health measures have forced us to suspend our group classes, until at least January 17th. Credits will be given to registered members, depending on the duration of the suspension of our activities.

During the announcement on December 31st, the government stated that it is possible to offer private classes[1], under certain conditions:

  • Trainer have to teach private class to one person at a time or to occupants of the same residence (family bubble).
  • At all times, a 2 meters distance must be maintained. There can be no manual assistance.
  • Spectators are not permitted.
  • The vaccination passport is mandatory for people aged 13 years and older.
  • A self-declaration sheet must be filled out at the beginning of each class, for each participant.

This is why we are pleased to inform you that we have added time slots for private classes from January 9th-16th.

Registration begins today, Wednesday, January 5th, 2022, starting at 6pm.

IMPORTANT: Registrations can be processed online only.

PRIVATE CLASSES TO OVERCOME PHYSICAL INACTIVITY AND ISOLATION

Several studies show that inactivity and sedentary lifestyle of children and adolescents have important impact on their health.  In Canada, since the beginning of the pandemic, 90% of girls have reduced or stopped their participation in sports and 25% have decided to not return[2]. Occasional participation in private lessons can help keep athletes connected to their sport and increase their returns to it once health measures allow to do so.

Getting out of the house and participating in a sports activity with a coach could also break isolation and help the mental health of young athletes.

Gymini is committed to the mental and physical health of its members.  That is why, despite the current health situation, we have decided to offer private classes. Let’s stay healthy, be safe and put in the efforts needed so that we can return to our activities with a semblance of normalcy.

F.A.Q. - Private class

You have a question? Contact info@clubgymini.org so we can add your question (and answer!) to our website!

The minimum age for participants is 6 years  old.

It is possible to take a private class individually or with your family bubble.

Family bubbles are allowed, however. So if you want to enroll two children or a child and an adult in private lessons, it is possible to do so.

Simply register one person for the desired private class and then contact the recreational sector to specify that 2 participants from the same family bubble (two people living in the same household) will attend.

Please note that only one trainer will be present and that the participants will have to follow the same schedule and the same equipment. The trainer will however adapt the workshops according to the abilities of the various participants.

The coach will meet you at the door behind the Multisports Center 5 minutes (yellow door) before the start of the private lesson. We will then invite you to complete the COVID-19 symptom self-report questionnaire.

We would have really appreciated a parent attending the private class on the mezzanine. However, no spectators are permitted according to the information published by the government. Therefore, we regret to inform you that you will not be able to stay on the mezzanine during the training.

Your child will need a water bottle and sports clothes. The activity will take place barefoot. A storage area will be available on the mezzanine to store personal belongings.

A mask is mandatory when changing equipment and in common areas (hall, corridor, bathroom, etc.). Each child over 5 years old must wear a mask upon arrival.

If your child has one of the symptoms of COVID-19 (see list of symptoms), he will not be able to attend his private lesson. We ask you to contact us as soon as possible to let us know.

In case of delay or absence from the private lesson, please inform the coach or administrative team as soon as possible. For any delay, no extra time will be allowed after the predetermined time slot.
